Crisa was established as a subsidiary of Vidriera Monterrey (founded in 1909, later renamed Vitro, S.A.B de C.V), which was manufacturing glass containers for breweries at that time.

Crisa begins operations with its first plant, known as Plant C. In these years, production was manual, it had only 200 workers and the variety of its products reached an average of 50 items. 

In 1940, the second plant known as Plant M was built and began with a small oven that made glasses for a single market.

This year, 2 machines were built, one solar type to decorate plates and another burner type to start decorating glasses.

The Intercrisa distribution center, known as Plant I, is established to provide better service to our customers.  

In 1988, the automatic manufacturing process for glass blender cups began, a product in which we are world leaders.  
Crisa achieves Certification in the International Quality Assurance Standard, ISO 9001.

In 1997 Libbey Inc., a leading company in the United States, acquired 49% of Crisa. 

In 2006 Libbey Inc. acquired full ownership of Crisa.  

Currently Crisa manufactures more than 1,000 different items and its employees and workers amount to 3,500 people.

Libbey's 200th anniversary is not the only celebration, but also a call to action for our associates. We had many regional events planned throughout the year, and we loved sharing them with you.
